TRAINING

GAMMA IRRADIATOR USE

Individuals desiring to use one of the gamma irradiators must first attend the “Isotope Research Training” session.  They must then receive unit specific training on the irradiator they wish to use.  The training is given by individuals designated by the Radiation Safety Office.  This training involves a brief description of the unit, its operation and emergency procedures.  A Certificate of Training will be submitted to the Radiation Safety Office by the trainer when the individual has demonstrated the ability to safely use the unit.
