Sites

The following locations are currently covered by the University of Pittsburgh Radiation Safety Office and will serve as the primary locations where the residency curriculum will take place as well as any smaller associated off-site locations.  Together, these sites cover a broad range of clinical specialties.

The University of Pittsburgh

Located in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh, PA, this highly ranked public university is a leading research institution.  The Radiation Safety office will serve as a central hub for the residency and is centrally located near the other sites.

UPMC Presbyterian Hospital

Also located in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh, adjacent to the University of Pittsburgh campus, it serves as the flagship hospital in the UPMC medical system.  Many rotations and equipment surveys will take place here.

UPMC Shadyside Hospital and Hillman Cancer Center

Located in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh, these sites serve in conjunction with Presbyterian Hospital.  Many rotations and equipment surveys will also occur here.

UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh

Nestled in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, this nationally ranked children’s hospital specializes in pediatric care.  During rotations and equipment surveys here, residents will be exposed to the world of pediatric care and how care is specially tailored to this group of the population.

UPMC Magee Womens Hospital

Just down the street from the Radiation Safety office in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh, this hospital specializes in women’s health.  During rotations and equipment surveys here, residents will be exposed to how care is specially tailored to women such as breast imaging.
